Who we are

ISB Films is a newly created and stand-alone division of International Sports Broadcasting (ISB). ISB has been a leading sports broadcasting company for over 30 years and has covered most major world sporting events including the Olympics, Paralympics, European Games, Pan American Games and World Games since 1997.

ISB Films is dedicated to making quality audience-driven international films, TV series and documentaries for festivals and a global audience.

We are focused on urgent stories that matter, told by world-class filmmakers and exciting newcomers with a fresh take on story telling.

We are keen to support stories and filmmakers from diverse backgrounds with a unique take on the world around them.

ISB Films is also open to sports related stories that transcend the genre and focus on the human elements of sports.

Recently released films include The Movie Teller (dir: Lone Sherfig), Blindfold (dir: Daniel Fernandez-Cañadas) and Score Until the Last Day: the Alphonso Ford Story (dir: Aris Tsiaras). Upcoming films include Winter of the Crow (dir: Kasia Adamik), The Invisible Contract (dir: Luciana Kalplan), and Hijas del Agua (dir: Jacques Toulemonde) We are based in Madrid and currently mainly focused on content from Europe, Asia, Latin and South America. ISB Films can fully finance development and co-finance productions.

Ursula Romero

Passionate about cinema, Ursula Romero has directed and produced numerous films and documentaries. Her filmography as a Director includes a feature film shot in the USA and Italy (accepted in the 2003 Cannes Film Festival), three award-winning short films, two documentaries and a short animation film. As Producer, Ursula has been involved in the production and distribution of various films and documentary projects in the USA and Europe. Aside from her passion about cinema, Ursula has worked extensively in the TV industry and has an impressive professional background in live TV broadcast. She has held senior production and live TV-direction positions for the broadcast of all of the Summer and Olympic Winter Games since 1996, where she has received several awards, including the IOC Golden Rings for the coverage of several Olympic disciplines and the Sportel Innovation Award. Most recently, Ursula produced for ISB the live TV broadcast of the 4th Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany and received international awards for her film ALAN and documentary BLINDFOLD. In the last year, ISB has been the preferred Host Broadcasting company for various International Federations such as the International World Games Association (IWGA), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) and the World Karate Federation (WKF). Ursula’s academic background includes a BA in Film Studies by the University of Utah, USA, and an MA in Filmmaking by the London Film Academy, UK.

 

 

Paull Miller

PAUL MILLER

HEAD OF FILM

Paul Miller is producer, executive and consultant working in the United States, Europe and the Middle East. Previously, Miller was Director of Film Financing at the Doha Film Institute and Head of Film Production at New York based Crossroads Films, under deal with United Artists/MGM. Miller’s credits include Golden Globe nominated, A Love Song For Bobby Long, Prozac Nation, Snow Angels and John Sayles’ Golden Globe nominated Men with Guns, the Academy Award nominated Lone Star. Miller works often as a government consultant on film and TV policy and strategy (including the Netherlands, Greece and Saudi Arabia). Miller was educated in the UK and is a graduate of the National Film and Television School. He is a member with Ateliers du Cinéma Européen (ACE), the European Film Academy, the DGA and the PGA. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on international film financing.

ARIADNA RODRÍGUEZ

PRODUCTION EXECUTIVE

Ariadna holds a degree in International Business & Economics from Pompeu Fabra University and the University of Sydney. She began her professional career in Venture Capital, in the field of financial consulting, where she contributed to securing funding for audiovisual industry projects.

Afterwards, she started working in the film industry at Fasten Films, a Barcelona based movie and series production company. She participated in international projects such as “Mediterráneo” (2021), a Spanish-Greek co-production, premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival; “La Voluntaria” (2022), a Spanish-Greek co-production (Homemade), premiered at the Málaga Festival, and the Thessaloniki International Film Festival; “Maret”  (2021), a German-Luxembourgish co-production, premiered at the Luxembourg Festival; “The Path”  (2021), a Spanish-German co-production for Warner Bros; “Centauro” (2022), for Netflix; and “Entre la vie et la mort” (2022), a Spanish-French-Belgian co-production.

She transitioned into the Executive Production with “The Open House”, a documentary short film directed by Julieta Lasarte, premiered at the Busan International Film Festival (South Korea) and with Laura Ferrés’ debut feature, “The Permanent Picture”, coproduced with Le Bureau (Paris), which premiered internationally at the Concorso Internazionale of the Locarno Festival 2023 and nationally at the Seminci International Film Festival 2023, where it won the Golden Spike, marking the first time a Spanish female director received this recognition.

Recently, she produced “Bajo el Mismo Sol”, a Spanish-Dominican Republic co-production, directed by Ulises Porra (“Tigre”, “Carajita”), which was selected for the Co-Production Forum at the San Sebastián Festival and is currently in post-production.

In addition to developing herself as an Executive Producer, Ariadna has also completed her studies in Scriptwriting and Filmmaking and has worked with international festivals such as the Red Sea Film Festival as well as universities such as the Blanquerna – Ramon Llull University.

ANDREA CARRERA

CFO

Andrea Carrera oversees the finance activities for ISB Films as well as controlling and complying with the statutory regulations and taxation procedures of the company. Andrea has had more than fifteen years of experience in planning and operations of TV Host Broadcasting and has worked on several events such as Pan-American Games, European Games and World Championship events. She has also worked in the Corporate Finance Team at OBS from 2005 until 2015 and was part of all Olympic Host Broadcasting activities during that time. Andrea undertakes this new professional stage as CFO of ISB Films with enthusiasm and commitment. She sees in film a new and relevant business opportunity for ISB.

With a degree in English Literature at University of Santiago de Compostela and a Diploma in Journalism at Conde Nast College of Fashion & Design, Yurema brings a unique blend of creativity and communication skills to the role.

Yurema has a proven track record of success, having excelled at renowned companies such as Jellycat London and Saloni. In these roles, she played a vital role in supporting management, identifying potential opportunities for commercial development, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the organizations.
